Glenn R. Massey
President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Massey has held the role of President and/or Chief Executive Officer for three companies within the funeral industry, as well as executive roles in several media companies.
Mr. Massey was President, Owner and CEO of Choctaw Communications Inc. (dba Smoke Signal Communications), which became one of the nation’s top five prepaid local phone service companies established after the Telecommunications Act of 1996. At Choctaw, Mr. Massey was responsible for revenues in excess of $70 million within a three-year period due largely to similar marketing strategies that TributeDirect™ employs: direct response media, strategic alliance partner endorsements, and full service customer care. The company was successfully sold to VarTec Telecom Inc.
Prior to Smoke Signal, Mr. Massey was President, CEO and Board Member of FloraFax International, a publicly-traded company that focused on the Floral Wire Transfer (FTD, Teleflora, and Red Book) and credit card processing business. Mr. Massey grew this business to $18 million in annualized revenues and turned annual losses into profits within his first year.
Prior to FloraFax, Mr. Massey was President of Blanton Niday Retail Floral/Massey Brothers Wholesale Floral, a company created when he acquired 154 funeral-related florist stores from Service Corp. Internatinal—the nation’s leading corporate-owned funeral home enterprise. Mr. Massey turned this distressed floral company chain from a company losing more than $1 million per year into a profitable company with $8 million per year in annual revenues.
Mr. Massey honed his direct media response skills as Vice President for Western International Media, one of the country’s largest Direct Response Television companies.
Mr. Massey has a B.S. Degree in Advertising from the University of Texas and completed undergraduate work at the United States International University in London, England. |
